My top 5 bars in Paris

france paris Sep 26, 2023

If you find yourself in Paris not knowing where to grab a drink, these are my top picks to have a fantastic time and off-the-chart drinks in Paris.

Bisou

This place is it. There is nothing that compares to Bisou.

Located in the 3rd arrondissement in Paris, it's difficult not to spot Bisou from across the street! With its pink chandelier and flower-covered terrasse, Bisou has a one-of-a-kind twist in cocktail creation. That twist is that they don’t have a menu. How it works is that a bartender comes up and asks you a series of questions: What spirit do you prefer? Do you like your drinks sweet or sour? And so on. The bartender then comes up with a drink based on your answer, and they create a unique drink made just for you. When I tell you I have been here more than five times and have never gotten the same drink. Apart from this fantastic concept, the glasses have been among the best drinks I have tried in Paris. Drinks cost 12 euros for alcoholic drinks and 8 euros for non-alcoholic drinks. I really cannot recommend this place enough. The vibes…immaculate!

Chez Nous

If you are looking for a chill, romantic vibe, then Chez Nous is for you!

You can find Chez Nous in the 6th arrondissement in front of Pont Neuf. With brick-exposed walls, this wine bar gives the romantic, sexy vibes that we all need in life. Whether you go out with friends or for a date, Chez Nous is the place to be on the 6th. The bar itself has an extensive wine and bubbly list, and of course, to accompany that fantastic wine, they have immaculate charcuterie boards! I have fond memories of this place, and since I moved to Paris, I strongly desire to go back and visit Chez Nous. Order a bottle or have a few glasses of wine; the prices range from 20-80 euros.

Dirty Lemon

Women-owned (and run). Bar food. THE best basil gin cocktail. This is the best way to describe Dirty Lemon.

If you find yourself in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, you must make a pit stop in Dirty Lemon. I just need to say that this place IS THE VIBE of the 11th. Whether you want fantastic food or their extremely well-prepared cocktails, Dirty Lemon just gets you in the mood. I have been trying to re-create their basil gin cocktail because it has been one of the best gin drinks I’ve had. Also, always (always) ask for shots. They have these amazing shots mixed with different syrups that just know how to get the night started (order that Doudou shot and thank me later). This woman-owned and run bar is the perfect, inclusive bar for a night out with your friends!

Little Red Door

Another one in the 3rd! Little Red Door is a cocktail bar found exactly where you would expect…behind a little red door!

This relaxed, woody cocktail bar takes another twist on cocktail making. With their insane cocktail creations, I can guarantee that everyone who visits LRD will find a drink they love so much that this bar has been voted as one of the fifty best bars around the world (and they very much deserve this title). My first visit to LRD was two years ago, and I still dream about their Negroni-inspired cocktail! Whether you go for a date night or a chill night with friends, add Little Red Door to your Paris list!

La Felicità

I can’t not write an article about Paris without mentioning the Big Mamma group. Famous for its truffle pasta and amazing burrata entree, La Felicità combines the best bits of the BM group in a relaxed, fun environment in the 13th arrondissement of Paris.

La Felicità models a street food market inside this fantastic, renovated railway/warehouse. It’s filled with trucks and trees that make you feel like you have been transported into another land. They have everything from their 20/10 pastas to burrata to their towering lemon meringue pie. But my favorite bit of La Felicità has to be their cocktail bar. I remember my first time trying the infamous bellini spritz, and I can safely say I have never been the same after that. To top it all off, I would even go to La Felicità (or any BM restaurant) for a cocktail. Their staff are some of the friendliest and funniest people I have ever met. Apart from a unique and gorgeous bar in one of the corners of this market, they also have a beer garden. Whether you want to live your best Italian life with a bellini spritz or have an excellent ol’ pint of beer, La Felicità is a definite stop in your Paris visit. Check out their website to see who will be performing that evening!
